This year we celebrated our second annual 4th of July block party a little bigger. One reason because it was our neighbors last year-so we really did it up! We were visited by the KC fire department (not because of fire works) who set up their hoses on the ladder of the truck for the kids to play in. The kids decorated bikes for a bike parade and some families even decorated t-shirts for to wear for the day. Of course there is always lots of delicious food. We do a potluck-bring your own meat and a side dish to share. We have games set up for both kids and adults, a swimming pool to cool off in and lots of great catching up time with some great neighbors. As it gets closer to dark the fireworks start. We begin with lots of firecrackers that the kids love lighting. Then we moved to a bigger and better show. Thanks to all those who purchsed hundreds of fireworks for our enjoyment. We really enjoyed the show! It was a great day and we all enjoyed the fun, food, and merriment with our wonderful neighborhood (as well as some drama that could have been left at home).
