Wow, little girl, where did the year go? I can hardly believe that a year ago we were blessed with a beautiful little girl. Once again mommy went in to the hospital in the morning to have them induce labor-that means that you (like your sissy and bruder)really enjoyed staying inside mommy's belly (and who wouldn't with all the sweets this mommy likes to eat) and the doctors had to help you along to come on out. Daddy and I sat and played Yahtzee for 6 hours straight (it was a busy day on the OB floor so no one was pushing this baby to come out real fast). Finally mommy told daddy that she needed to stop and focus on getting you to come. An hour and a half later you entered the world in all your beauty. You were so small (in comparison to the other kiddos) and perfect. You had lots of fluid in your belly that the doctors had to suction out, but you took it like a champ. You didn't want to eat much at first but mastered that soon after you got rid of the fluid.
We took you home two days later and your sissy and bruder were in seventh heaven. They loved holding you and kissing you and helping mommy and daddy out. Mommy and daddy felt so blessed that you entered our lives and we thank God each day for bring you to us.
You were an amazing baby from the start-you slept good early on, although you lost that touch once we moved you to your own room. You have remastered that sleeping through the night again after a few months of spending time with mommy in the wee hours of the morning!!! You took a great liking to your daddy as he spent time with you while mommy worked. In fact before this summer, you would sometimes prefer daddy and make mommy feel bad because you didn't always want me. A summer with mommy has turned things around and you are such a sweet mommy and daddy's girl. You love to be held and cuddled, tickled and tossed, read to and sang to, and of course you love to eat, eat, eat. You were such a champion eating from early on and loved your baby cereal, fruits and veggies.
Your current favorites at a year old include:
Food: spaghetti, taco meat, meatballs with marinara, sloppy joes, grilled cheese, pizza, bananas, applesauce, watermelon, blueberries, yogurt, and baby food squash and sweet potatoes. Of course you absolutely have a sweet tooth, but you come by that naturally. You also love to gobble up goldfish!
Activities: Playing outside-as soon as we say, "Macy, let's go outside" you run to the door. Outside you love to ride Merrick's scooter, push your bike, draw with chalk, swing, run through the sprinkler, and ride in the wagon or stroller. Inside you love to play in the tupperware cupboard and find lids that match bowls; play in your ball pit, draw on paper, talk on the phone, read books, and look outside at the kids or animals. You are so cute carrying around baby dolls and patting them on your back. You also love swimming when given the chance and love taking baths as long as mommy doesn't poor water over your head.
Words: Your favorite sound is barking like a dog. At first we had you trained to only do it at a dog, but now you often see any animal and bark like a dog. Sometimes you get so excited that you shake when you are doing it. You love making sounds and having conversations (we don't always know what you are saying but we talk right back). Currently our favorite words include momma, dadda, ba-ba (for bottle), ball, and "this" which is what you say when you point to different things you want. You say more sounds that sound like words as well. We love when we ask you "Where is your binky" and you put your hands up and say something that sounds like "Where is it?"
You currently weigh 22 lbs 5 ozs and are wearing size 12-18 month clothing. Your foot grew in the last few weeks and you are now wearing a size 4. Fortunately for mommy but maybe not for you, you fit into many of Merrick's hand-me downs.
Thank you Macy for being the best little baby girl any parents could ask for. Thansk for being such a lover to all of us! We look forward to seeing all that this next year of your life brings. We love you! Happy 1st Birthday Macy!
